arun
Hi Arun,
In sales order creation you can use different types of materials. Materials have assigned one item category group (see MM02/03 - screen Sales: sales org. 2). This item category group assigned to the material master data it is used to determine the sales document item category (for each sales document type and material item category group a specific sales document item category can be assigned). See SPRO -> Sales and Distribution -> Sales -> Sales Documents -> Sales Document Item -> Assign Item Categories.
The Item category will determine how the system reacts, if that sales order is related to stocks or not.
The sales orders which are affecting stocks - document flow should be: sales order -> delivery -> post goods issue -> invoice.
For sales orders which are not affecting stocks - document flow should be: sales order -> invoice.
Mainly there are materials item categories groups for non-stocks: DIEN - Services and NLAG - Non-stock
I hope this is helpful for you,
best regards,
Valentin
