Hi,
We have an input field attached to a context element of date type.
When user chooses a date from the date search-help there is no problem.
But when ever user tries to key-in the date of invalid date format,
An error message is comming in german.
Actually that message is correct, but i need to display that error message in English.
I tried many ways to fix this issue, but unable to fix it.
Please help me on this issue.
Thanks & Regards,
Kiran Chennapai
Hi Kiran
Try these options
1) Change your <b>Internet Explorer</b> [The Browser which you are using] language
2) In Application Level, ie in Webdynpro
a)Go to <b><Your project name>>Webdynpro>Applications--><Your Application>
Double click on your Application name</b>b) Go to Application Properties TAB, Add a New Application Property
c) Click on "<b>Browse</b>" and Select <b>DefaultLocale</b> and mention the Value as
<b>en_US</b> [If you didnt mention any thing here by default it will take browser's language]
3)In your Portal check the language setting of particular user in identity management
Warm Regards

Hello All
I am also facing the same issue.
I am using Portal NW2004s SP12 . The error message that comes after date is manually entered by user in invalid format,
is in German language as below.
Bitte geben Sie den Wert in der Form 25/11/1987 ein
This problem is with all the applications like Portal User Advanced Search in User Administration Role , ESS/MSS apps , etc.
Please suggest the solution.
hi
Go to Navigator.
In the tree structure of your Project you find src folder.
In that you find Packages folder.
Open the tree structure until you find languages folder.
open it.
open the related .xlf file.
In the header tab you will find source Language option and there you select AmericanEnglish.
In Resource Text tab also you can change the Text that you want to display.

Hi Isabel,
I understand that this note is for SP12 in NW2004s, so I don´t think your problem is related to the note since it should be ok in your SP, maybe it is something else, you are only having this issue in the errors coming from Webdynpro or everything is in German?
Kind Regards,

Hello Kiran,
You can avoid this problem by changing the default language to English - United Kingdom (en-gb). And if possible restart that Browser and deploy the application again. Tis time it has to work according to your requirement.
Now your default language has to be German; change that and move its position to top.
Don't forget to restart still its not working
