Hi Gurus,
Please tell me the significance of copying and renaming the std. SAP docs/ I cats etc. with a Z prefix.
I have to conduct a session with the client soon on its importance.
Thanks
Creating Z nomenclature is of significant importance.
1. You can have a nomenclature and hence divide the programs as per the processes.
2. During upgrades, all the enhancements on the systems, can be analysed readymade if there is a nomenclature for custom made developments.
3. It will be helpful to avoid OSS notes influence on the Zobjects. Whenever OSS notes are implemented, it wont affect objects having Z* value.
I hope this helps you.

Hi,
A prefix of Y or Z is used in SAP if you are defining anything of your own (say order type/ item catagory etc)
Best practice is to copy Standard SAP requirement , remane it with prefix Z and make necessary changes to suit your requirement.
This helps in identification and original SAP settings are not disturbed.
