updating the data

hi sap gurus,

In support , one of the responsibility of the consultants is

to Update & Monitor of Master data in SAP.

what they will update ?

master data is nothing but material master and customer master data ?

or something else. ?Plz do explain clearly

Dear sabina

In order to have some control on master datas, the authorization to change or update master datas will be with either Functional Consultant or Core Team. Other than Customer Master and Material Master, Master Datas includes Pricing Condition, Customer Material Record, Tax Conditions etc.

Since these are all very sensitive, clients wont give such authorisations to their end users.

1.Pricing Condition in VK11

The price may change and need to change the condition record for basic price.

Hi,

Master data upload in support will be handled by key users only.

Normally they upload the data through batch using BDC or LSMW.

The process is ,they send flat file to sap and scheduled job for creating and changing master data.This data includes Customer,Material and condition master data aswell.

Due to huge data creation and change they generally prefer Bacth jobs.Here they upload and monitor the jobs.
