Hi all

i have to run SGEN coz we applied patches and we have heavy z working and increasing.

can anybody tell how much table space sgen expends, almost all tables are about 70-85% used and how much time it require to run sgen with all options.

i have 90 GB data on my prod server (checked through db13 logs)

about server conf.

IBM P Series

Two 64bit cpu 375 Mhz, 3GB RAM, 700 GB disk space (DS4300 Storage)

Hi,

If you want to regenerate loads, make sure that there is enough space available in the database. The space required can be several hundred MB. Generation over all components requires around 2 GB of free space.

Hi,

It's depand on the system configuration and load,

you can schedule sgen in backgroud at night when no user is working becoz is takes high cpu usage

Hi,

Generally it's takes around 8-12 hour,

once you run sgen than after 100 object generation you got apporx run time to complete SGEN.
