R3load Performance

Former Member

Hello everybody

I'm upgrading from 4.70 tp ECC 6.0. Since now everything is going fine, even rapid. But in phase EU_IMPORT5 suddenly the performance of R3load program has decreased, it is using a very few processor (0,5%, 2%) and this phase is taking so much hours.

Anyone knows what can be the cause of this behaviour?

Thank you in advanced.

Hello Volker

Yes, I put 24h, so... is this the time the phase will take?

I didn't understand what this input meant

Is there any possibility to change this?

I imagine the answer.

Best regards.

Hi Ruben,

that is the time, it will put DLYJOB in ;-(((

=> it might take 24-36h in total ...

you could kill the current r3load job => sapup will report a problem and you would exit ...

The yoiu could run the following:

SAPUP UPGDIR('/usr/sap/put') PARMLIST('set stdpar')

(change settings of phase INITPUT & restart SAPup)

Then it will speed up ...

Hi Ruben,

Well, as Volker pointed out how to change the parameters, that parameter is baciscally used to slow down the import, when you are using strategy downtime minimized.

What that does (putting 24 hours) is that it stretches the total import to span approximatley 24 hrs and hence puts less load on the server resources, so that the production operation is not severly affected.

If you choose 1-2 hrs, the import is done fast at the cost of more CPU/memory.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks

Abhi

Hi Ruben,

do you see SIGW for the R3loads sometimes ?

What EU_IMPORT Time did you specify ? The default 24 or 0 ?

In case of 24, this would be normal ....
