Hi forum,

do you know a OSS note to migrate from a 46D standar kernel to a 46D EXT kernel on Solaris 10 + Oracle 9.2 host ?

Regards.

Download SAPEXE* and SAPEXEDB* for your platform from http://service.sap.com/patches and patch your kernel using the EXT kernel just as you were patching using the normal kernel. There´s no difference.

Are you already on Oracle 9?

Yes, we are already in Oracle 9.2.0.6

Ok - then download the EXT kernel and replace your current kernel (after taking a backup) with it - and you´re done.

Hi,

One more note, be sure that you have installed the oracle 9i client.

Normal 46D kernel is linked with oracle client 80x, 46D 64 bit Solaris is a bit special and it is linked with 81x.

46D_EXT is linked with 9i oracle client so you will have to check if it is installed and adapt your environment variables

This is SM51/Info & SPAM output.... I'm in doubt. Is it a 46D EXT Kernel ?
