IDES 4.6C SR2 on Solaris10/Oracle

Hi,

we would like to install a R/3 IDES 4.6C SR2 system on a new Solaris 10 UltraSPARC with Oracle.

SAP send us cds with Oracle 9.2 (32bit and 64 bit) and Oracle 8.1.7 (32 bit only)... a 46c kernel, a 46d ext kernel, exp1 e exp2 dvd.

oh.... in IDES documentation we read that we must use kernel (for installation) in exp dvd. This kernel ask for Oracle 8.1.X ... but we have 32 bit only kernel.

Heve you already install IDES 4.6C on a new system ? Solaris 10 ?

Regards.

Yes - it's possible but you need to create your "own" installation CD. Check

Note 946141 - Inst. SAP Systems on UX/Oracle 10.2 with R3SETUP

IDES 4.6c?

4.6c is out of maintenance, if you don't have an extended maintenance contract you won't be able to access patches and corrections.

Technically it works - but not "by default".

Yes, IDES 4.6C

We have already a extended maintenance.

Check

Note 557255 - Inst./Sys Copy. SAP Systems on UX/Oracle 9.2.0 with R3SETUP

You will need to do some manual work - no matter what database version you use.

557255 replace DATABASE.R3S ... so installation doesn't work.

Oh... it's a problem.

What do you mean with that - "it doesn´t work"? You need to follow all steps from that note... what´s your problem?

The default CDs won´t work since at the time of creating them, there was neither Oracle 9 nor Oracle 10 available thus you need to do manual changes.

You are right ... but how can I marge IDES requirements with new settings from 557255 that now support Oracle 9.2 and 10.

That it is a IDES installation DATABASE.R3S... R/3 IDES 46C has got only one dvd export...

Ok - in this case I suggest you open an OSS call and ask the guys in components BC-INS for an adapted DATABASE.R3S.
