Unable to see one App server in ST06.

Hi,

We have 1 DB server and 2 app servers. We are able to see 2 servers in SM51. But we are unable to see app 2 server in ST06. (Detailed analysis Menu > Display across servers.). We tried to restart the SAPOSCOL, But we are getting same problem.

Please help me in that regard.

Hi AR,

If you can see your app2 server in transaction SM51, resetting the Hostname buffer may not help.

Restarting SAPOSCOL will also not help since SAPOSCOL attaches to shared memory segment before SAP starts. This segment is checked by the ST06 to get data.

However if due to some problem your SAPOSCOL is started after SAP has already started, SAPOSCOL cannot attach to the shared memory segment and hence ST06 may not show data.

to ensure that ST06 displays data for that server, you may need to stop the particular application server, restart SAPOSCOL on that application server and then start SAP on that application server.

Hi,

Normally SAP collect the performance data by using SAPOSCOL.

But to collect the information from each server

the ABAP instance has to be running.

In your case I think DB server isn't appears on the screen.

Your DB server is so called standalone DB server,

which no SAP instance is running.

This is the reason you cannot see the perfornace information of DB server.

In order to see the performance on the server which SAP is not running,

CCMS agent has to be configured.

which 2 servers you saw in SM51 ?

have you try reset the host buffer in SM51 ?

in ST06, under Detailed Analysis Menu, I can't see option for "Display Across Servers", what is your kernel release and patch level ?
