I am looking for a table/field that would have the last date of movement of inventory by batch. Does any1 know what table/field to use?

u can have the same in MSEG table.
at a same time u can have the same in MC.9 report for the last mvy taken place, issue or transfer or recipt, from selection variant.
MSEG should have the information.
per individual material/batch combination you can use MB51 to list all movements to easily identify the last movement date.
