How to archive the old messages on XI

Hi Guys,

We have done the Archive setup but the old messgaes(messgaes generated before archive configuration setup is made) are not picking up by archive job.

Plz let me know how to archive the old msgs?

I need to archive both successful and errors messages.

Any help on this will be appreciated greatly.

Logically thinking its not possible to archive messages which have been processed before the archiving job was scheduled.

also the below excerpt from the help.sap link conveys the same

<i>Since processed messages are flagged as either to be archived or to be deleted (and because this indicator cannot be changed), <b>you must decide which messages you want to archive before the first message is processed</b>.</i>

Hi Kumar,

It is not possible to archive messages before the interfaces were defined for archiving.

The only option is to delete those messages from database.

Secondly messages with error status will not be archived till they are in a final status. Ie cancelled for Async Msg.
