Hi,

System admins are responsible for providing the authorizations.

Contact your admin.

You should use the auto generated user for CMS - XIRIG.

When we set up the CMS it automatically generated a user - I think it was XIRIG.

We ahd to use this to do the transports as assigning the roles such as SAP_XI_CMS_SERV_USER and SAP_CMS_Administrator did not work and we still got authorisation issues.

Hi Barry,

I dont think user is generated when we setup CMS. Generally the default one is LSADMIN.

I believe in your case the roles might not have worked since the ABAP roles might not have been linked with J2EE roles.

I followed the instructions to the letter (section 31)...

Assign the role to the ABAP dialog
user(s) responsible for CMS
administration. In our example, this
is the dialog user XIRIG.

Hi Barry,

Seems like there was some confusion..

The default service user used for authentication is LSADMIN/PILSADMIN.

You are right it is mentioned ...XIRIG ..cause since the doc is prepared most probably by XI Regional Implementation Group(RIG).

But then generally most would keep a different name since the guide doesn`t mention specifically to create user with name XIRIG like it does for LSADMIN.

I set this up three years ago, so there were not too many people out there that had done this!

FOr some reason the authorisations didn't work with any other users a part from this one (on that specific SP level). SAP may have addressed and fixed it since then! (I am on different project using FTP - and no longer doing installs.) I was sharing my personal experience 😄

Hi Amar,

Who did the configuration for CMS ?

Check if your XI box if the following role has been defined..

SAP_XI_CMS_SERV_USER.

If yes login to /useradmin and check if role CMSDeveloper has been created.

If both the above are there then login to ABAP stack and assign role SAP_XI_CMS_SERV_USER to your user id.

If you want full authorization you can add the following role SAP_CMS_ADMINISTRATOR to your user id.

If the above doesnt help you let us know.

Regards,

Sumit
