Why do we have webdynpro abap when we already have webdynpro java?

Web Dynpro is for Good UI Design. Web Dynpro for ABAP is for Designing the UI for ABAP Applications. Web Dynpro for Java is for Designing the UI for ABAP as well as J2EE and CAF Applications. This enables vast number of programmers(Java, ABAP) to work depending on their skills.
