Hi Mamun,

Shadow_Import phase will take longer time if you include support packs,add-ons and languages just check wether it is running any process in your overview.

It takes time and finally it will be finished.

Hi Mamun,

We can never say the number of hours that it is going to take it depends on lot of facors such as (Hardware Resources etc...).request you to check the logs when it was last updated.

"normal" is a relative term.

It depends on the amount of parallel R3load processes you use, your machine size, amount of SGA for Oracle, number of CPUs...

I´ve seen it running 3 hours on a 8-way AMD64 box and I also saw it running 15 hours on a 4-way SPARC.

Do you have all the 30+ patches for Oracle 10 applied (note 871096 - Oracle Database 10g: Patch sets/patches for 10.2.0) and did you also set the EVENT parameters (note 830576 - Parameter recommendations for Oracle 10g)? Those events made it possible to run it in 3 hours...

Hi Markus,

I have checked your suggested notes and it is there.

FYI. Upgrade assistance looks like it is running with step SHADOW_IMPORT_UPG2 but actually it is not doing anything.

In this step upgrade was stopped as we ran out of disk space on /usr/sap and later we have added space and started the upgrade, we have also turned of archive mode in this step,

step to /usr/sap/put/log and /usr/sap/put/tmp, do an "ls -lt | more" on them and check the newest logfiles.

And what do you see in /usr/sap/put/log?

You see ِa running R3trans?
