Object ZXXX could not be activated (Message no. R7I028)

Hi,

While trying to activate an InfoCube, I received the following error message:

Object ZXXX could not be activated

Message no. R7I028

BTW, I am on BI 7 Patch 14 (SAPKW70014) environment.

You can check in transaction SLG1 for application logs.

Just a note,

I manage to create and activate a new Cube using a sample characteristic and key figure.

However, upon using the same characteristic and key figure in my existing cube, I am still unable to activate it.

Does it have something to do with my cube technical name?

Looks like there are some issues in table creation...Try using SE14 or SM14 (Database Utility) for the tables mentioned & adjust them.Try activating once done.

Check with basis folks if the InfoCube can be created in the data class defined(with regards to memory space),as it is not allowing you to create tables.

Hi,

These tables like /BIC/DZXXXXP are created and activated during the activation of the infocube.

The enhancement category for these tables are not set manually.

You will have to contact the object owner regarding this issue.

Few questions:

1. What does it means by enhancement category

2. Why those tables are not set manually?

3. Who do you mean by the object owner. As I am the one who created the InfoCube, am I not the object owner myself?

/BIC/DZXXXXP is a system created (Packet) dimension table - Check the status of this table in transaction code SE11.This would be inactive (We could have this corrected by using menu option in SE11 --> database utility.

/BIC/DZXXXXU is a system created (Unit) dimension table - Check if this table available in SE11(It would not be, as it is mentioned that it is yet to be created)

Since you do not have control of the tables that gets created while activating an InfoCube,suggest that you try creating a fresh InfoCube.If the problem still exists then get in touch with the basis folks.

Upon checking the table in SE11, I get the following error:

Message no. E2007

<b>Diagnosis</b>

There is no object with this name in the ABAP Dictionary.

<b>Procedure</b>

Check your entry.

The same goes with table /BIC/DZXXXXU

Actually, I have created another cube. But I wanted to know why this thing happens and is there any way for me to recitfy it.

Sorry for late reply.

You are getting the error that these tables do not exist because they were not created and activated properly. this will happen only if the activation of infocube is not successful.

ZXXXX should be replaced by your cube name...Did you try creating a fresh InfoCube?

Not sure as to why this happens,anyways don't forget to post your solution once rectified.

Yes, the tables were not created at all. But activation of Incube is not successful either even though I manage to save the cube.

Yes, I am able to activate the other cube, using the same characteristics and key figures. Weird huh.

Of course, I have replaced it with my cube name. Creating a fresh InfoCube with the same characteristics and key figures was successful. So I wonder what went wrong with it.

Just a guess...

1) There would have been a kind of connection or link disruption with the database at the time of creating the InfoCube.

2) Basis or Database folks might have carried out activities in database relating to data class etc..,

Transaction Code SE11 --> In Tech Settings,you could see the data class for the table.

Take a look at this link for information on data class...

Try activating once in RSD5. Sometimes it will work out.
