Hi

XI is platform indepedent that it accepts all formats internally adapter takes care of this and converts it into XML format which XI can understand.

hi somu,
XI can understand literally almost all formats externally using the corresponding <b>adapters</b>. But internally in the Integration Engine the protocol or suite is designed such that it can understand only <b>XML </b>and hence internally it can only understand XML structured DATA and not any other formats.

Hi Somu,
XI does understand nearly every format. Just internally XI is working with XML.
Excample: You can read a csv with XI. But if you want to process this message in XI the adapter has to convert it into XML.
