SAP Upgrade

hi,

we are upgrade 4.6c to ECC6.0.i am new to DB2 for i5/OS.so please tell me what are the files to upgrade kernel.do u have any procedure to upgrade.any one have any screen shots to upgrade.

What I would suggest is this:

Go theu the upgrade guide and all the upgrade notes related to 4.6c to ECC6.0 upgrade on the iSeries.

That will help you a lot. It has everything you will ever need.

For kernel and other related stuff, search this forum and OSS.

The upgrade guide as well as this forum will help you as long as as you help us.

Hi Ajai,

I'm sorry to tell you, that it is not a good idea to upgrade an SAP system on a platform you don't know anything of ;-((

We typically use completely patched kernels instead of importing the CD kernel ...

we are upgrde the kernel patch level to 1706.what are the files to download and howmany files to are there in upgrade?.plz give me the file names.

Hi Vloker,,

We are upgrding our old kernel 620 patch 1208 to 620 patch 1706.from market place .In marrket place we have around 77 files we downloaded all files and uncared in windows Machine.But when we see the origin kernal in os 400(ie 620 kernel have 240 files in run directory.now at this point we are very much confused.

we deleted all 240 files from the kernel and uploaded this 77 files in to run directory using ftp,after this we restrted the instance but it did not work.Is this procedure right,or we need to add this 77 files to 240 files.

please provide the solution ...

Hi Ajai,

6.20 kernel is out of maintenance since about 3 years !!!!

=> You NEED to switch to 6.40 kernel first. We can help you there with a complete kernel cd.
