Interactive Planning area - No plannable

Former Member

We just upgraded to SCM 5.0. We are getting errors when running the interactive planning area.

When we select a single products and try to load into our planning book, we are getting no plannable characteristic combination. When we select multiple products, the products load.

Any ideas on why it works for multiple and not one?

Hi Stephen

Do you already run /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK ?

If not, I recommend to run this to remove inconsistency.

If you still have same error, after running above program,

Could you tell me error number ?

best regards

Keiji

Here is what we completed to fix our problem.

Run report /SAPAPO/OM_LC_UPGRADE_50 via TCODE SE38. In section

C - At End of Upgrade, and perform steps 4 - 7.

If you run transaction /NRSRV; >All Elementary Tests; >>Database;

Double-click >>>Check Database Parameter(s)<<<

++EXECUTE++

You will find 2 red lights there.

ORACLE: Parameter OPTIMIZER_FEATURES_ENABLE is set to value 9.2.0

(recommended value is 10.x)

Message no. RSCV527

This is related to our problem, which is due to a big issue in Oracle

10.*. You might need to get your Oracle admin involved to change the

parameters.

ORACLE: Parameter OPTIMIZER_MODE is set to value CHOOSE(recommended

value is ALL_ROWS).

In most cases the /SAPAPO/DELETE_LC_ANCHORS report did not run for the

affected client during the last LiveCache initialization due to one of

the following configuration errors:

  • /SAPAPO/DELETE_LC_ANCHORS was not entered as post-processing step

for LiveCache initialization. In LC10 press the pencil button (and the

administration reports tab if necessary) to check this setting.

  • The RFC destination was not set up (correctly) for the affected

client during LiveCache initialization. See note 305634 for more details

Many thanks Stephen...I'll pass this on to our Basis folks to do the Oracle changes.

I’ll also check the other bits. I have already ran /SAPAPO/DELETE_LC_ANCHORS after managing to initialise LiveCache so hopefully it will just be that Oracle setting that sorts it out.

Thanks again.

We opened a message with OSS. There was an Oracle setting that needed to be changed. I have asked basis for the setting. I will update this when I know.

Many thanks Stephen...it's been driving us mad so any help you can pass on is much appreciated.

We have also searched high and low on OSS but couldn't see anything so it's great of you to help us out.

Many thanks

Hi,

We have upgraded from SCM 4x to 7.0.

I am getting this error only for one PB and data view, here is the details of the error

- Internal error (/SAPAPO/OM_TS_CHANGE_TG)

- Error reading data - Planning book cannot be processed further

I get this error message when I load data for either signle CVCs or selection profile.

I have ran following consistency checks

1. /SAPAPO/PSTRUCONS - Consistency Check for Planning Object Structure

2. /SAPAPO/TSCONS - Consistency Check for Time Series Network

3. /SAPAPO/TSLCREORG - Check LiveCache Time Series Data

4. /SAPAPO/OM17 - APO DB consistency check

There are other PBs and data views in same PA, no issue with them.

Please let me know your findings with this issue.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Sreeni

When we run transaction SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN and access the Planning Object Structure. I right click and go to Char. Combination --> check Char. Combination/Master data I get a couple of warnings that say that certain products and locations are not in the master data.

what master data they are talking about and how we maintain these products?

Hi Stephen

We are having exactly the same issue having just upgraded from APO 3.1 to SCM 5.0. Did you manage to get this problem resolved and if so how ???

Many thanks

Checked that table and all looks right

• Run the consistency check in background with action selection as ‘Analyze’ (/SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN) for your Planning Object Structure to verify any duplicate CVCs or any inconsistencies exist

• After analyzing the consistency check, go to manage log and find out the details

If you have run the consistency check then ignore the above points.

please check your CVCs. Even you should not be able to see the CVC in display CVCs by filling in the input chars. But you can see them if you sort it in an order. May be this is related to Internal/External number format. If the input is not in correct format, you will not see them in pl book. so delete those CVCs and recreate them correctly in correct format (size).

Let me know your results.

thx

Product and location are both assigned the correct info object.

I suspect the Product characteristic may not be defined with correct values. Try checking the BW Master data table for Product using /BIC/P<<PRODUCT CHAR NAME>>. Are you seeing all individual product values like you see locations for the BW Master data table for Location ?

Note:

This is occurring in Interactive Demand Planning. All the necessary characteristics have been moved from the planning area to the planning book side.

Another quick check, can you open your planning object structure. On the menu go to Assign Product/Location. Can you ensure that the product char is filled in?

Thanks for the info...

After we reran /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK, we are still getting these errors.

There are no plannable characteristic combination Message no. /SAPAPO/TSM230

Error reading data - Planning book cannot be processed further Message no. /SAPAPO/SDP085

Any additional feedback will be rewarded.

Is this DP or SNP ?

If it is the former, you will get this error if the planning book is not defined with all the characteristics specifically the Product in your case. Ensure that it appears in the right side (selected side of characteristic) in the char tab of Planning book definition.

If it is the latter, try to invoke the selection in SAP standard book and see if it shows up there. I am definite it should show up there. Then you would just need to do a one on one comparison of your planning book with the SAP standard book.
