How to Create another Live Cache Instance on the same server

Dear Gurus,

I wan to create another live cache instance in the same server which already have a live cache running.

This is a test server, so we're not focusing much on performance

I dont really find a good SAP note describing this.

Thanks,

Naren

Hello Naren,

-> What version of the liveCache do you have installed?

-> What is the OS of the liveCache server?

-> Are you going to create the second liveCache instance as the liveCache instance copy of the existing one?

-> In general you could have two or more liveCache instances running on the same server, if you have enough OS resources on the server.

See the SAP note:

327578 New software structure as of SAP DB version 7.2.4

&&

information in the links you know already.

You could follow the liveCache installation guide to install the second liveCache instance. What is the problem?

Or please more details of your planning project.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hi Natalia,

I managed to install the live cache 2 days ago, no problem. But I wanted to know just in case during the 2nd live cache installation if there is any prerequisite or impacts besides performance.

Looks like there is no problem!!!..Thanks Anyway!

-> What version of the liveCache do you have installed?

---7.5.00.35

-> What is the OS of the liveCache server?

-

AIX 5.3

-> Are you going to create the second liveCache instance as the liveCache instance copy of the existing one?

not copy of the existing one, but copy from another system

-> In general you could have two or more liveCache instances running on the same server, if you have enough OS resources on the server.

no issues as the other Live cache will be used less frequently and can be shutdown most of the time
