SAP R/3 Scenario: Process Industry

Purpose

In process industries processing, your company uses process management to manage production activities. In this scenario, there are two typical processes showing how to control production activity using the SAP process industries function.

Process 1: Make-to-order (MTO) with process order for 3-level production

Process 2: Make-to-order (MTO) with process order for 2-level production

The PI-sheet is used for recording production information and goods received by sending a process message.

Process Flow

Sales order creation: A sales order is created using a material variant, with make-to-order (MTO) you also need to entry product-describing attributes.

Multi-level MRP run: Run multi-level MRP for a single material.

Collective conversion of planned orders to purchase or process orders: Product-describing attributes are transferred from the specification of the sales order.

Purchase order processing: The purchase order is created with reference to the purchase requisition. Product-describing attributes are transferred from the specification of the sales order. The purchase order price can also now be determined using conditions, which refer to specified attributes or their combinations.

Goods receipt with reference to the purchase order: Receipt of the goods reference purchase order, when the goods are received you need to entry product-describing parameters. The batch number is created automatically.

Results recording work list / usage decision: Use of the work list to record goods QM parameters and determine their usage.

Collective release of process orders: This is used for process management

Change of the process order: The component batch of the process order is determined automatically; The characteristics of the process instruction categories are also valuated automatically. The control recipe is created for process management.

Control recipe monitor - sending of the recipe: Send control recipe to the process management destination.

Confirmation of the process order and posting of the goods issue: The component will be posted automatically on confirming the process order.

Maintain the PI-sheet: The process order result gets recorded in the PI-sheet. You can record the process result in different phases and you can use different units to record the product result.

Message monitor / send goods receipts messages: The goods receipt is sent automatically on sending the goods receipts message.

Create outbound delivery: Create delivery to sales order.

Process the billing due list: Bill sales order.

Key Points

An alternative unit of measure can be used when completing the goods issue and goods receipt.

Characteristics can be valuated automatically.

Goods receipts can be completed by sending a goods receipt message.

The batch number for the goods receipt can be created both manually and automatically.

The quality needs be recorded after the goods receipt has been issued.

Hi Jagan..,

In general a process industry you have Goods Receipts inspection, In process inspection and Goods issue inspection.

1. Material which are to be inspected to be activated for QM view and assign required inspection type.

2. Create inspection characteristics, sample producre, inspection method.

3. Create inspection plan and assign chracteristics to plan.

4. based on the inspection type and settings given in the Routing inspections (for in process) lot will be created.

5. record the results and give the usage decisions.

Hi Vee Hari and preesath,

Thank you for your replies and can you tell me about inspections with the Batch charactertics in process industry. The batch charactertics need to be inspected isin't and also tell me use of material specifications.
