Keep Transports after Upgrade

Hi there,

We developed a template for customers with specific customizing. The customizing is placed in transports. We now want to upgrade from 4.70 to ECC5.0. Is it possible to get new transports after the upgrade, which are a copy of the 4.70 Transports but then in ECC5.0, so that we can use these again for our customers. Or do we have to customize it all over again to create the transports for ECC5.0 !

Hi Rene,

Technically there is no limitation for importing transports from 4.70 to ECC 5.0 . As long as customizing setting is still valid for ECC 5.0, you can import that from a transport created in 4.70. You just need to ensure that the tansport files are available under /usr/sap/trans (data and cofiles subdirectories respectively). But you should validate all your templates after upgrading to ECC5.0 to ensure same settings which worked for 4.70 works for ECC5.0 as well.
