Important Cross Docking Decision Criteria.

Hi,

I am trying to undertstand Cross Docking. What I would like to know is what are the various criteria on the basis of which we decide that a certain Inbound Delivery should be Cross Docked or not?

For Example:

1. Do we use Material Type? Does this mean every time that material is coming in the Warehouse we Cross Dock it?

2. Do we use Quantity Match with Outbound Delivery (for Sales Order)? So whenever a O/B delivery of 100Units needs to be met we Cross Dock the first I/B delivery that has 100Units (assuming other factors like product, Material match the Sales Order)?

3. Do we Manually assign I/B deliveries for Cross Docking?

Please advise me....
