Oracle brings its own Java VM, it won't use the one you installed.
I suggest to uninstall the Sun JDK/VM, check that JAVA_HOME is NOT set and restart the installation.
Check that you have installed all required hotfixes for Windows 2003 IA64:
986578 - Oracle support on Itanium 2 (Montecito) systems

Markus
If you have actual IA64 hardware you have to follow note 986578 as already mentioned above.
The java runtime originaly delivered with Oracle9 and Oracle10 will crash on those CPUs.
You will have to use an updated java runtime as described in above mentioned note in order to get Oracle installed.
Only use Windows Server 2003 SP2 on this platform.

Hi!
We had a similar problem with the Oracle Patch, when we try to run the OUI:

In our case The OUI doesn't start because the Directx version.
Did you have the last version of DirectX? Please install it.
All the information is this note: <b>741361</b>

To install 10G you need to have atleast 2-4Gb of free space in your OS drive (may be C:)
do you have that?
if not provide the required space and startover the installation
and as markus said Oracle will not use your installed JAVA it has nothing to do with wih JAVA_HOME, Oracle has its own java and it will automatically be installed when you install Oracle.
Regards
Abdul.
