Error in description of the role

I have a requirement wherein I have to change the description of the role . When I try to do this in the development systems , I get an error

“Text maintenance only possible with logon in original language DE of role

Message no. S#606"

When I login with de as the lang, it does let me make the changes, but these changes are not reflected when loggin in the normal English system.

Any help in this regard would be much appreciated and rewarded.

hi Surya,

you have to do translation. You can either do it in SE63 or whereever you change these roles, in the menu somewhere should be a step: 'Translation' where you can translate all relating text elements.
