We recently upgraded from 3.1 to 7.0. In the report prompt we see a drop down containing =, <=, >, >=, <, [], *, NOT, NOT =, NOT <=, NOT >, NOT >=, NOT <, NOT [], NOT *. Most of these we understand. Can anyone tell us how [] & * function?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

[] is for when you want to give a range, like beween A and B.

Hope this helps...

Bhanu,

Thanks for your reply. [] was a mystery to us and we could not find any documentation. We'll give it a try.

Thanks,

Chris

  • function works as a wildcard search - when you set option as C* - the variable would return all values starting with C - and if C all the values that has a C in it.

[] - not sure what function it performs - havent used it ever

Voodi,

Thanks for your reply. We were kind of guessing '*' was for wild cards. Nice to know.
