Can any body tell me what is excise duty?

Dear Karunakar

Central Excise duty is an indirect tax levied on goods manufactured in India.

When you make a sales to a customer, you are suppose to levy duty on sales value.

It is mandatory to pay Central Excise duty payable on the goods manufactured, unless exempted eg., duty is not payable on the goods exported out of India.
