In the Visual Admin under SAP XI Adapter: XI there is a parameter xiadapter.isconfig.url. Default value = http://localhost:50080/sap/xi/engine?type=entry.
My question: Why is the port 50080, and not 8000 or 50000?
My system number is 00..

Hi Dirk-Jan Kloezeman
according to reply of sainath:
"The java series port starts from 50000 series and if u consider http it starts from 8000 series ".
but general rule is this that i told you in my first reply also for series 8000 the general rule is this
port no = 8000+10*(system no )
so in your case exact figures should be (if your system no is 😎
50000+8*100=50800
8000+8*10 =8080
hope this may clarify you how to calculate port numbers
Thanks

Thank you for your effort both. I know how I have to calculate abap or the java port. But I am confused about that parameter and port 50080.
In the SAP NetWeaver 04 Configuration Guide SAP® Exchange Infrastructure on page 92 (or look for SAP XI Adapter: XI) there is a description for this parameter (xiadapter.isconfig.url). Default value is port 50080 and under that there is a remark that these properties must not be changed.
In my opinion when your instance is 00, your http abap port is 8000 and java port 50000. Do I have to change this port into 50000 then, or 8000?

Hi
please go through the wiki
As per the standardisation
Actually The port no starts from 50000 for Java Stack
and The port no starts from 8000 for ABAP Stack

Hi Dirk-Jan Kloeze...
General rule to calculate HTTP port no is as follows
Port no = 50000+ 100*(system no )
for Example :-
if system no is 6 then port no will be 50600
But here in your case system no comes out to be 0.8
no system no cant be a fraction no
so kindly check again the port no .
Any way hope this may clarify your concept about how to calculate HTTP Port no
Thanks

The pipeline url in the SLD for an XI machine set to http://hostname:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry.
I am confused about the default value of 50080. What XI component uses port 50080?
