use this Exit V45A0003 in t code SMOD and the component EXIT_SAPMV45A_003 Copy Requirements An Header Level, and i think you should be able to meet your requirement.

Also you can use the Transaction Varaints SHD0 alternatively.

if you want to enter a default value in the purchase order type field in sales order header, then do it by either of the ways

1. by variant tcode SHD0

2. by USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBKD in program MV45AFZZ

hi,

if u want to make it mandatory then u can do it thru incompletion procedures. i am not able to get you mean by 'default'. if u mean to have a fixed value all the time then either u can create a screen variant or use an user exit- mv45afzz
