When you display the PDS you can check the 'Valid From' to 'Valid To' dates to check whether it is active or inactive. There is also an 'Obselete Status' indicator in the last column, though I'm not sure how this works.
As per, SAP documentation, only current status PDS are displayed and if you have any obselete PDS you can display them by pressing the 'log' icon. I could not find the 'log' icon & assume it appears only if you have obselete PDS.
