hi all
I want to use sender HTTP adapter .My scenario is like
sender -
use HTTP plain adapter----PI 7.0---RFC adapter-receiver
problem is there is sender HTTP channel where i find
Transport protocol : HTTP1.0
Message protocol : XI payload in HTTP body
Adapter Engine : Integration Server
Security check for incoming message : HTTP
HTTPS without client authentication
HTTPS with client authentication
so plz guide me how to do the scenario using this sender HTTP adapter
for the practice point of view what could be the best logic to use the whole scenario
thanks amd regards
Manas.

Hi
>>if the sender communication channel is not required then why the sender channel is there in XI.
I Hav ethe same doubt previously.
If u want to send data from one system XI system to other XI system without any modification i.e only datd transfer at that time we will go for sender XI adapter.
>>To send HTTP request is there any tool present like to send SOAP request ALTOVA tool is there..
Through HTTP client only we can send are else In RWB -> Compoenet monitoring u can send data.

HI
according to my understanding we use HTTP adapter for converting msg from plain http protocol to XI protocol..
here i am confusing what is messagetype of HTTP protocol (is it HTML or XML)
as u told " If u want to send data from one system XI system to other XI system without any modification i.e only datd transfer at that time we will go for sender XI adapter"
In this requirement we use HTTP adapter..
I am not getting the actual logic in which purpose we use HTTP adapter (whether it is sender or receiver)
can u provide me any blog for this complete information..?
regards
Manas
hi manas,
>>I am not getting the actual logic in which purpose we use HTTP adapter
u are right above... HTTP adapter is used to convert plain HTTP msg <b>without soap envelope</b> into xi-soap msg. plz dnt get confused with this. u dnt need to create a sender soap comm chnl...it doz not mean that we are not using http adapter. its just that u are not configuring http adapter on adapetr engine coz its present in abap stack as a service /sap/xi/adapter_plain.
so even if u are not configuring it in ID it is still being used.
we still configure sender http adapter in case u need to do special settings like setting security level.
as for ur previous doubt, u can send http requst using a http client application OR u can go to RWB --> component monitoring. there in adapter engine u can find a test message tab to test ur message.

Hi
>>In this requirement we use HTTP adapter
But here its between two XI systems
U just want to transfer the data.
In XI adapter we will mention the messages details in case of sender and Receiver system details is case of Receiver XI System
I think you are confused with the XI protocol.Http over SOAP is only protocol.
To convert plain HTTP msg without soap envelope into xi-soap msg for that we are using HTTP adapter.
U can read help.sap.com its more than enough
