in the print layout design, in the price field by default the price is displayed as
INR 20.00, but i don't need to be displayed as INR so can any one tell hoe to remove the INR from the price field

You need a formula field - Amount(Price Field). That will take care of the currency.
So if price field has unique index no of F_122, formula is Amount(F_122).
Make the original price field not visible
