Changing existing Datasource

Hi

I am not an expert in extractions. I am using BI7.0 We are live. Now i need to change the existing standard datasource. I just need to bring another field in Sales Order in lieu of existing field in the data source.

Can you please guide me step by step ? all the steps involved in changing the datasource and filling the setup tables, if any..?

I dont know how to do scheduling/descheduling v3 jobs. can you pls let me know in detailed steps with the tcodes ?

Hi ,

ya,apart from the above steps

prior to enhancing the datasource,

1.run the v3 updates immediate run

2.clear the delta que(rsa7) run the delta Ip twice to clear the delta's

3.deschedule v3 jobs

after enhancing

4.delete the setup tables

5.refill the setup tables

6.schedule v3 jobs

Thanks for your immediate reply. Is this that simple ? Do I not worry anything about setup tables, cleaning them, etc.. where does V3 load comes into pic ? When i replace an existing field with a new one, how can i get all old data of that field ?

Do you have some step by step notes on setup tables, v3 updates, which scenarios, these are used ?

Hi ,

in order to add new fileds to the existing datasource,folow these steps:

Lo enhancement

Option 1- Enhance in LBWE

1. check in LBWE- Maintenance -> check if your required field is available in pool (right hand side).

2. If it is available then send it to left hand side.

3. Save and you will find the new field as part of your extract structure.

4. In LBWE go to datasource maintenance and uncheck the Hide check box for newly added fields and Save the data source.

5. No need to write user exit code for these fields.

Option 2- Append & user exit code

If your required field is not available in LBWE Manitainance then follow all steps given below

1. Go to RSA6, click on data source and go to extract structure.

2. In extract structure maintenance you will find Append structure button on upper right corner, click on that.

3. Name the new append structure, insert required fields.

4. Activate the structure & also activate the extract structure.

5. In LBWE go to datasource maintenance and uncheck the Hide check box for newly added fields and Save the data source.

6. Write code in user exit in CMOD to populate newly added fields
