Hi Experts,

I am new to XI . my requirement is like this .please give me a brief idea how to go forward and which are all the scenarios i can decide .client is asking and iam in trouble.please tell me which scenarios are suitable .immedietly i will reward you points.

Project goals and objectives:

Brief Scope

1.Access Control Record System (ACRS) :

ACRS allows company users to view two different types of reports:

1. Employees Access Reports

2. Employees Working Hours Calendar View

3. Contractor Man-hours Report

4. Contractor Employee Man-hours Report

5. Companies Overall Monthly Hours

These details are available in ISS Oracle 9i database server and the system should fetch the data through PI and place it over R3 ZTABELS.

Process Flow

Role based reports can be viewed based on the following input parameters:

1. Department

2. Employee Type

3. Date From

4. Date To

Access Control Reporting Master Table to have Access Control Reporting System Data from ISS using XI.

2. Product Shipping & Management Application (PSMA) :

XI interface to accept input data from R/3 and fetch the result from PSAM Oracle Database.

PSMA is mainly used to keep track of customer requested raised the vendor being company. It mainly tracks the status of customer requests from initiation to closure.

Part of the activities handles by PSMA is that it creates the shipping documentations in terms of submittals and cover letter including all details related to the shipment. Besides, it provides what is called a certificate of quality for the products being shipped.

What we are concerned with is basically the reporting mechanism built on top of PSMA Oracle Database as backend and ASP as front end. This is mainly a set of reports intended to provide business users with some sort of business intelligence on top of the PSMA system. These reports should be brought on portal using XI.

Process Flow

1. User requests for a report from the available list of PSMA reports by providing required set of input parameters.

2. Portal forwards the request with these input parameters to XI

3. XI should communicate to Oracle Data base to fetch the required set of result and pass it on to portal.

4. Report is viewed on portal screen

3. IOW (Integrity Operating Windows) :

XI interface to accept input data from portal and fetch the result from IOW (ODS) Oracle Database.

Brief Scope

This small application is built on top of ODS (Operational Data Server). This package is mainly used by operations and technologists. The main objective behind IOW is to report predefined set of tags in terms of being compliant/incompliant according to predefined constraints.

This Application takes the help of XI and reads data from the ODS Database (SQL Server Based)

The front end is a couple of Web Dynpro Pages that are used to query the ODS database using XI.

The first front end page provides user with the option to select under which area they need to view the report and what type of report they would like to see.

Process Flow

5. User requests for a report from the available list of IOW reports by providing required set of input parameters.

6. Portal forwards the request with these input parameters to XI

7. XI should communicate to Oracle Data base to fetch the required set of result and pass it on to portal.

8. Report is viewed on portal screen.

4. RELIEF VALVES TEST SHEET:

This form is used for Relief Valves Test Sheet request. Initiator (RV Technician) prepares the sheet by putting TAG No, Fetches other required data from PACER interfaced with XI.

Hi Naresh

if you are new to XI then its better first you should have some hands on few scenarios

its better to read TIBIT. Below are the links of TIBIT

which are very helpful in understanding the End-to-end process of XI. And you can even do some exercies here which very helpful

after understanding these exercises later you can make your scenario by yourself easily.

Hi

Your scenario is using JDBC to RFC and vice versa. For Access Control Record System (ACRS) it will use JDBC to RFC.Product Shipping & Management Application (PSMA) shall use RFc to JDBC.The workflow / process flow shall determine other requirements.

Thanks

Naresh,

Is this your Functional Specification???

As Amir said is correct, to get the response quickly you should split your question.

Best Regards,

Sarvesh

its impossible for any XI developer to answer your complete question, please try to be specific in what you are asking, everybody is busy with their work schedule.

if your question is too large and one question is not dependant upon other then please split your question into muliple threads.

response will be a whole lot quicker and more accurate.

Thanx

Aamir
