1) Can any one please tell me what is difference between Account group & Partner functions.

2) Diference between Partner determiniation procedure & account group.

The account group is a classifying feature within customer master records. The account group determines:

In which number range the customer account number should be;

Whether the number is assigned by the user or by the system;

Which specifications are necessary or possible in the master record.

You use the account group to determine:

The interval for the account numbers

Whether the number is assigned internally by the system or externally by the user (type of number assignment)

Whether it is a one-time account

Which fields are ready for input or must be filled when creating and changing master records (field status).

Partner functions are those people those who directly or indirectly contribute towards business improvement like SP, SH, BP, PY, PE, Sales Engr, Service Engr. etc.

Partner determination procedure is used in automatically determining the partners in sales order, delivery, billing, Sales activities and also in CMR.

<b>Account Group</b>

When you create a master record for a business partner, you must enter an account group. The account group determines:

• Which screens and fields are necessary for entering master data

• Whether you can or must make an entry in these fields

• How master record numbers are assigned (externally by you or internally by the system) and the number range from which they are assigned

• Which partner functions are valid

• Whether the business partner is a one-time customer or one-time vendor

<b>Partner Function</b>

A company deals with different natural and legal persons during business transactions. For example, a customer may order goods and/or services from the company. Or, a contractor might supply the services to the customer. An employee in customer service will process the business transactions. All the roles these persons can assume are represented by business partners in the R/3 System.

<b>Partner Determination Procedure</b>

In the partner procedure you can determine whether partner functions can or should occur in a partner object (customer master, sales document, item category etc.).

For each object, in whixh partner functiions can be created, you can define partner procedures. That means

• for the customer master

• for sales documents

• for sales documents and billing documents: for items

By assigning a procedure you determine for which account groups (for the customer master), which sales document types (for sales documents) and for which item categories this procedure is valid.

PARTNER FUNCTIONS

by assigning a partner function to a partner we can determine which functions partner fulfills in the business process. A partner can have more than one function.

partner functions are classsified using partner types.

partner types enable general scheduling of partner functions as in creditors, customer, personnell and contact person

ACCOUNT GROUPS

fico people define account groups for each and every partner function. By using the account group we can control CMD by changing or assigning field status to each and every field. As every customer master is made up with number of fields . depending upon the requirements of partner functions and transactions we assign or change field status to a particular field.

PARTNER DETERMINATION PROCEDURE

BUSINESS MAY HAVE A GREATM DEAL OF CONTACT WITH NATURAL AND LEGAL PERSONS.

PARTNER DETERMINATION IN SD ENABLES US TO DISPLAY THE PARTNERS INVOLVED IN BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS THEIR FUNCTIONS AND RELATIONSHIPS IN R/3.

WHEN CREATE OR CHANGE A SALES DOCUMENT SYSTEM DETERMINES PARTNERS AUTOMATICALLY.

a/c group is a elemnet which contols how the felds should act when creating customer master like, weather they surpress, disply, required,optional

where as partner functions we will assign to A/c group that what r the fuctions that custmer function lik sp, bp, sh, py. some case the sp party will have all functions and so csutomer master will be another

first we have to create a/c group and then we have to assign no. ranges and partner functions and partner determination procedure to a/c group.
