Hi SAP Guru's,
Can anybody please tell me the effects of deleting a Production BOM? I want to create a new Production BOM in place of it.

dear ketan,
why do you want to delete the production BOM, it is not necessary to delete the BOM you can anytime define a new BOM and assign the materials to it.

If I create an alternate BOM, how will SAP know which BOM to follow when creating the production order?
I want to delete the existing BOM since the Valid From date is incorrect and it does not have an ECM associated with it.
Hi,
Now you can maintain ECM change number for your BOM with effectivity dates as you wsih. What I think is, you can resolve your problem without actually deleting BOM....
You can create alternate BOM and assign instead of deleting existing BOM.
