I've just come across the same problem.

My system's up to date with support packs. Would Mr Hameed please let us know which Support Pack fixed it?

I've found out what you need:

Our Support partner told me that the Java Stack needs to be updated.

Determine your Java support pack level:

Open a web browser and browse to your XI/PI server, ie http://sapxi:50000

Click on System Information (if prompted, login as j2ee_admin with the j2ee_admin password (usually the master password used in the system's installation))

At the top of the page on the right, look at Software components - my entries were:

sap.com/SAP-JEECOR - Version 7.00 SP9

sap.com/SAP-JEE - version 7.00 SP9

The SP9 needs to be the same support stack as the ABAP stack - ours is 14, so the Java components also need to be on stack 14.

Goto service.sap.com/swdc

Use the navigation tree on the left as follows:

Download -> Support Packages and Patches -> Entry by Application Group

On the right hand pane, click on:

SAP Netweaver -> SAP Netweaver -> Netweaver 7.0 -> Support Package Stacks -> Support Package stacks

Choose your stack source and target (ie, 09 and 14), uncheck all components except Application Server Java and Process Integration (XI).

Click on Next Step, then, choose your platform. If you're using XI/PI, don't forget that you need the UNICODE platform.

If you have already updated your ABAP stack, you can untick the files for PI BASIS, BASIS, ABA, BW, Kernel Part I and II, and GUI Front end patches.

Then, save the list to a file by clicking on Save as File at the top of the package selection table. This will be necessary to help the JSPM work out what it's going to do. The popup window will let you choose XML or CSV - right click on the XML file and save it to the
sapxi\sapmnt\trans\EPS\IN directory. Once all the rest of the Java Support Packages are downloaded, they'll also need to go in this directory.

The JSPM (Java Support Package Manager) should be the first package to be updated so download that first. JSPM is basically the Java version of SPAM. In the list it's called Patch for JAVA SP MANAGER 7.00 SP14, it's file name is JSPM14P_2-10003470.SCA. Note that you will need at least half of the support packages to be approved/confirmed with Solution Manager. Download the file and save it locally on the PI/XI server.

On the PI Server, open Windows Explorer (in a Windows environment), and goto E:\usr\sap\PI1\DVEBMGS00\SDM\program, or wherever your SAP instance is installed.

Double click on StartServer.bat (unix users I think have a StartServer.sh which most likely does the same). Then double click on RemoteGUI.

This should load the Software Deployment Manager. Click on the Connect button on the top left of the Toolbar, and enter the j2ee_admin password when prompted.

Click on the Deployment tab. The first of the icons above the table is "Add SDA/SCA to Deployment list" - click this button, then use the file selection window to locate JSPM14P_2-10003470.SCA.

The Support Package will show up underneath SCAs/SDAs for Deployment.

Click Next, Next then Finish. The JSPM will be updated. Once the installation is complete, you can then use the JSPM to update the rest of the Support Packages. Launch the JSPM by calling go.bat from E:\usr\sap\PI1\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\JSPM

This is as far as I've got, if it goes well, I'll document the rest of it here. If it doesn't go well, I'll be restoring from the backup.

When you start the JSPM, you're asked for a password - this is the master or J2ee password.

Enter the Password and click login.

Read the notes recommented by the text on the Select Package Type window, or skip them if you're feeling brave. You did take a backup before you got here, didn't you?

The JSPM reads the XML file SPSTab.xml (you downloaded this from the list of support packages, and saved it to the EPS\in directory). If you choose Support Package Stack from the selection, then click Next, the JSPM reads the XML file and determines that you're aiming for the Support Package Stack that you specified as your target.

Click on Details - this will show a list of Java components that will be updated.

Click the Next Button, then follow the Wizard to finish - the Java Stack will be updated. Depending on how many components need updating, the process could take between a few minutes and a considerable amount of time.
