XI administrative tools

What are the administrative tool in XI...I guss, i am intersted in knowing the role of Visual administrator and config tool.in XI administration.

Hello Suresh,

XI administartion is big. what exactly do you want to administer.

SXMB_ADM and SXMB_BPE transactions to administer IS. Both are ABAP side.

And most of remianing adminstration is in J2EE part. Yes, Visual admin and config are two tools for J2EE engine (Not only for XI)

Please go through sap help to know more about these two tools.

You can use the config tool for a lot more..like enabling security...the java cryptographic toolkit...the config tool can be used in both online and offline modes to set the configuration parameters..for the j2ee engine........for more info look up help.sap.com...

The Visual Admin tool is for when java is online - config editor is a scaled down version for use when java is offline.

Other tools to configure and set up are RZ20/CCMS.

You can also use the the Netweaver Administrator for monitoring and checking settings.

We use Solution Manager to monitor the whole landscape.
