I have a prob while installting SAP nw04s on RHEL 5 i have j2sdk 1.4.2_14. Got the error at step "creating java users". can any one help me...

Since you're on 32bit this won't help - or did you try to install the 32bit Java engine on 64bit OS? What is the output of

uname -a

Note 861215 - Recommended Settings for the Linux on AMD64/EM64T JVM

describes how to get the IBM JDK.

have you tried the following?

/path/to/SAPCAR -xf /NW/java/DVD/J2EE_OSINDEP/J2EE-INST/J2EEINSTALL.SAR -R /tmp/sapinst_instdir/NW04S/SYSTEM/ORA/CENTRAL/AS/install

and restart the installation again? You have to re-extract J2EEINSTALL.SAR into the install directory, not the base installation folder...

thanks for reply.I tried with SAPCAR -xvf of NW/java/DVD/J2EE_OSINDEP/J2EE-INST/J2EEINSTALL.SAR and owerwrite files in /tmp/sapinst_instdir/NW04S/SYSTEM/ORA/CENTRAL/AS/install but didnt work.

And also Already i can see those files in that folder.

export JAVA_HOME=/opt/j2sdk1.4.2_14

export PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH

and installing SAP with root users do i need to set any other environment variables please helpme.

Are you trying to install SAP thry direct consol or via VNC.

If you are using VNC than inplace of VNC try to install directly fro GUI Interface.

Please reverty me about the status.

Pleaes use the IBM Java version. as follows

IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-9.0.x86_64.rpm

Also download the following zip from SAP

unrestrict142.zip

cp unrestrict142.zip /opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142/lib/

Set the following env in .bash_profile

JAVA_HOME=/opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142 export JAVA_HOME

SAPINST_JRE_HOME=/opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142 export SAPINST_JRE_HOME

CPIC_MAX_CONV=500 export CPIC_MAX_CONV

This will resolve yoru problme.

This issue is with the SAPJSF user creation... like in older Sap versions, I would try to:

- Manually create it from Abap (logon with the DDIC user), as Type: <b>Communication User</b>, and Role <b>SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO</b>

or (from Note 492208):

1.- Call transaction SE37.

2.- Enter the function module PRGN_J2EE_CREATE_SERVICE_USER.

3.- Choose Single Test (F8).

4.- Specify the import parameter IF_PASSWORD. (the password you have entered at sapinst).

5.- Choose Execute.

Then, Retry to continue with the installation, and let us know if this solve your error!

I've never installed with this revision (14). There are some issues reported with it (note 716604).

With 1.4.2_12 I've always installed without this kind of errors.

I even try with this installation steps using j2sdk 1.4.2_14 please help whether i did any mistake i follwed these steps from Root user.

1) In .bash_profile

JAVA_HOME=/opt/j2sdk1.4.2_12

export JAVA_HOME

PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH:$HOME/bin:/sbin

export PATH

2)vi /etc/hosts

10.0.0.1 hostname.dev.com hostname

3)chmod 777 -R InstallationMaster/

4)rpm -ivh saplocales-2.5-1.i386.rpm

5)sysctl file i added and activated

1. SAP settings

kernel.msgmni=1024

kernel.sem=1250 256000 100 1024

vm.max_map_count=300000

Activate these settings with the command "sysctl -p".

6)/etc/security/limits.conf with lines similar to these:

@sapsys hard nofile 32800

@sapsys soft nofile 32800

@dba hard nofile 32800

@dba soft nofile 32800

7)./sapinst

8)in the middle i logut and login as orasid and ./RUNINSTALL and install Oracle

9)then start ./sapinst and continue old installation after the ABAP installation i can see this error at create java users.

Can u suggest me wheter i am making any mistakes in these steps and did i forget any thing?
