APO DP and Financial Forecasting

Hi all,

Can you use APO Demand Planning's available forecasting methods(MLR or Time Series) for Financial forecasting.

I think using DP for financial forecasting is stretching Demand Planning but I would like to hear from folks who have either come across using or validating the question if DP can be used for financial forecasting. Is it even possible.

Are there any alternative tools?

One challenge to do Financial Forecasting in DP is to be able to maintain exchange rates in your system current if the DP footprint is multi-regional and have conversions to one specific currency. I think if you have technical setups to do this, it should not be an issue to do Financial Forecasting. APO DP offers quite a few sophisticated ways to do Forecasting like MLR, Holt-Winters, Composite, Linear Regression etc.
