Hi all,
If suppose, after configuration in the SLD if i need to check the validity of the connection between the communicating systems and if it is an SAP system we can check the connectivity by specifying the RFC destination and importing the IDOcs. How do we do it for NON-SAP system?
Thanks
Hi Harika,
>>How do we do it for NON-SAP system?
This is an open ended question which leads to many questions as XI being a Integration broker can connect to varied Applications / Systems like DB,Peoplesoft,Seibel / Legacy systems through different adapters ..as suggested earlier in this link to test a legacy system we can use the file adapter, assuming we are looking at a particular folder... but that only gives the input like the system is up .. but how about the application...(though most cases we wont worried much in case of Legacy system), but lets assume we want to validate application like SAP..
Thats why metadata importer plays a very vital role in saving time in building metadata...
iWay gives metadata importer facility where by you connect to the application and extract the metadata..Thats another way to look at if the application is running or not...
Lets assume if you want to raise alert when ever there the end system is down we can write a BPM process...

FTP adapter is good if you just want to verify connectivity. Just put the connection parameters in the FTP adapter and put a dummy file there for it to grab.
