Power Sale in SAP R/3 ECC 6.0

Dear All,

Our client requirement wants to map Power, Heat , Steam Sale in SAP R/3 ECC

6.0. Is it advisable to do it in R/3 or It should be mapped in IS-Utilities Power

Energy Billing. If it cannot be mapped in R/3 , plz tell us the concrete reasons why

power cannot be mapped in R/3.What are difficult areas where we will face grey

areas So that we can explain the same to the client.

Suggestions awaited asap.....

Hi Subrat,

It can very well be enabled in SAP R/3. Actually I am working on SAP support for a utility firm, and there they cover every sales, purchase through R/3 only.

They even cover portfolio mngt, of various energy products, involve in commodity trading which are again enabled in sales and MM

So, it is very much possible. The only thing is that, youshould understand the industry well to configure the modules. Contracts, billing plans are abundantly used in utilities firms.

Dear Navaneetha Krishnan,

Could u please elaborate the above scenario. For ex which Material Type has to be selected for POWER or Energy to bill in Sales and Distribution. Secondly do we have any standards to maintain PPA aggreements.

Could you kindly elaborate how to MAP sale of electricity in SAP SD, as it will be considered as PIPEline material and there wont be any production GRN / stock.
