material determination in sales orders

On adding a new item to a new sales orders, a new item is also added due to the rules of material determination.

In USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE, I have to copy one field from the first material to the new material added.

I was thinking of using field vbap-uepos to do that.

Is this correct?

In fact, my question is how to know that a subitem is due to a material substitution?
