All,
I've just finished upgrading our central instance from 4.6c to ECC 6.0 and as a post upgrade activity I am to upgrade the application servers.
According to the manual, I'm to simply copy the folder UMN_WINDOWS_I386\DBINDEP (non-unicode) to the app server and run the command sapup upg_applserver. On executing I get the message
"Upgrade directory F:\usr\sap\put and the value of the profile parameter DIR_PUT
<CENTRAL_INSTANCE_SERVER>\sapmnt\put are not the same. This is not acceptable. Exiting......"
Obviously the upgrade directory is still on the central instance server, so why is there a mismatch and why does it think it's local. Any ideas how to resolve?
Thanks,
James
Did you solve this issue? I am about to do a similar update. We have a new server I was going to install the old version on the new server and do the upgrade. The problem is that the new server is 64 bit. Should I install the 32bit version of the OS?
