Quantity contracts in kgs

Hi all!

There is a requirement that the client needs to create a quantity contract for the customer as follows:

1] Suppose the client has range of products made of copper and is sold in KGs.

2] The customer places a quantity contract for 1000kgs of copper to be bought within 3 months.

But the customer may buy any product from the range of product available.

How can we customize as the actual finished product is different everytime though made of copper.

Either maintain customer-material info. record or BOM.

But the problem is : the client has products X, Y, Z made of copper. The customer justs orders for copper quantity in contract and not X,Y or Z. So how can we maintain or which product shall we maintain in the contract.

I think the customer should specifically say copper x or y or z. Otherwise it is difficult to fulfill his reqt.

Hi ,

This type of scenerios can be handles with the help of Configurable material ( Material type KMAT) .

In this if u goto materail master In Basic data 2 u will get a tab to maintain configuration Variant .

For eg customer buy a copper rod of 10 cm

15 cm

20 cm

in this case instead of maintin different material master record for this . Create only one master data and assign characteristic length , diameter to this materail in Material master ( As materail characteristic)

When u create a contract , create it for Configurable material of 1000kg .

When u create sales order or release order for contract and enter material system will ask u to put value for these characeteristics . So hope this will solve ur purpose .

Thanks for the reply. But the end product is not a configurable product. i.e for eg

Base material is copper but the finished product is either a strip or cable or multi-stranded wire. etc.

Hope you get the point.

hi,

Maintain item proposal for that particular customer and every time u make sales order,

go to propose items option and select the item to be in the order.
