I have made a folder structure in KM and attached it to a navigation i-View. I am trying to give permissions.
My problem is when I am giving permission to one folder , the permission goes to all the folders. And there are 3000 folders as such.
So, I have to remove the permissions from all the 2999 folders except one,for which the permission was actually assigned.
Is there any simpler method for doing this permission of parent child folder.
Please guide, if anyone knows about it.
Thanks & Regards,
Rishit

Hi Rishit,
If you have 3000 child folders in parallel in one top-folder, I would consider a design problem in your hierarchy. If there are 5 subfolders, which have subfolders which have subfolders... and all these in sum are 3000 folders, you only would have to care about setting other permissions on the 5 folders, as the rest would inherit these.
Anyhow, for mass ACL operations, you can use the "Propagation of ACLs" report, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/7ed876feb918e8e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm for details. You would search for all folders from your parent source folder, use a template with ACLs you want to have on your child folders, and after the search you uncheck the root (parent) folder itself, so the ACLs are set on all child folders.
Hope it helps
Detlev
