Hi friends,

Hope everybody is doing well.

How can i move one sap data file from /oracle/SID/Zapata/urp_20/sapdata20 to /oracle/SID/sapdata5 on a live HP UX- Operating System.

If i use ' mv ' command at OS level.. ... do i need to change any parameter correspondingly... at SAP level / at OS level..

and after doing this do i need to restart the DB.....

give me detailed description regarding this...

Thank u.

do this through BR*tools:

1st, shutdown SAP and ORacle. you cannot do this online.

then:

brspace -c -u / -f dfmove

Hi,

In this portal, on the left hand side, there is a field that allows you to "search"

If you use it, you would find that the information you are looking for is documented on the SAP note 868750

I'm not talking about going into oracle web site or use google, but use the tools provided in this page

Hi siva,

Don't use OS commands to manage datafiles! Your DB will crash (and too your Sap system), and your DB controlfile will become unusable.

Please, use BRTOOLS to make it in a correct way. You can look for help at:
