Necessity of JAVA

Hello,

We are planning to upgrade from R/3 4.7 to ECC6.0.

We are thinking about a solution without using the JAVA Stack at all.

What functionalities won't be available without JAVA and is there any list you could provide me which specifies functionalities and their requirements in ECC6.0 ?

Hello,

You will need a JAVA stack to run ADS (Adobe Document Services) for Adobe interactive forms.

Hello,

To make things easy, you can always Upgrade the ABAP stack first and install the JAVA stack later. You will not lose apllication data this way. By the way, are you suing the JAVA stack now at all? if so, which usage types are you using?

As for the question, some usage type has to have JAVA part like EP, but some usage type can exist with ot with the JAVA stack, like BW.
