Hi.,

There is no problem in doing RCC,Just try a Test run if it is successful it willl be ok,you can know even the sixe of the client thru' test run.

Try for Client export (scc8) & import(scc7).

You can use any of the super user with SAP_all as profile, execpt sap*.

If it is too large one, then system copy,But system copy is big procedural process.

Hi Stephen

You can use any super user with authorizations sap_all,sap_new. And yes you need to have configured RFC.

But the catch is make sure both the systems are at same level's.

There will be problems when doing a client copy between two dissimilar systems.

Niran.

P.s. if u think i am of some help please allot me some points

How can we use system copy for remote client copy purpose ..because my target client is having so many clients so if we go for system copy all the existing clients will be overwritten...and how to know the size of each available client without doing "test run"..

Hi,

you must perform test run to know the client size,

in your case you need to identify the size of your production system client,

and selct the appropriate method for client copy ( i.e in your case you can use remote client copy or client export/import method)

Hi,

You mean to say you want to copy your production system data to your development server,

you can do it by three method,

(user with sap_all authorization dont's use sap* user)

1) remote client copy using scc9

2) you can also use client export/import method using scc8 and than scc7

3)if client size is large than is is better to perform system copy.
