I am not sure what actually are you looking for but I can suggest you to go through the other forum ( Workflow). Thats the best way to quick and acurate resp. on this.
However, in any system to set up a workflow first thing that you should do is customizing the workflow. (TCode: SWU3). Make sure all the options have a green tick on them. Most of the case you can get this done by just clicking on Generate button. Usually this is done by workflow Admin or Basis people. Consult them if you are unsure of anything. Once you have them you can test the verification workflow in the same Tcode( you will be able to find if you all all the buttons on top.). If this wf is working then you can start developing your own wf.
