Using .Net to access R/3 4.7

Dear expert,

Can I use .Net connector 2.0 for Visual Studio 2003 to access R/3 4.7 system? I mean I would like to call RFC or BAPI in R/3 4.7 systems through Visual Studio to process the data from SAP.

Any documents guides me through the steps? Thanks!

One more thing - Is it necessary to install PDK for .Net even if I do not want to develop any UI based applications? My requirement is only to call RFC or BAPI in R/3 and perform post processing for the data returned.

Hi Fred,

Yes, you can invoke the RFC/BAPI from VS 2003 application using SAP .NET connector. You can access the complete tutorial/help at -

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/52/d2923e5b906663e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

And you don't have to install PDK.

.NET Connector (NCo) and PDK are two different products used for different purposes. NCo is used to generally invoke RFC/BAPI from .NET based application whereas PDK is targeted towards using the existing .NET skill to develop and deploy SAP applications on EP.

Do write back to the forum if need any help or have any queries.

Regards.
